British Friendly Launches Symbio Wellbeing App for Enhanced Member Health Access

British Friendly has unveiled an innovative health and wellbeing app titled Symbio as part of their Mutual Benefits programme. Designed for both new and existing members, along with their immediate families, this app offers convenient access to a wide range of healthcare services at no additional cost.

Tailored Services for Better Health

The Symbio app has been developed specifically to cater to the needs of British Friendly’s members. Each year, members and their spouses or children can access essential services, including:

  • Unlimited Digital GP Appointments
  • Six Physiotherapy Sessions
  • Six Mental Health Support Sessions
  • Two Second Medical Opinions
  • An Annual Health Check at a discounted rate

Comprehensive Wellbeing Features

Further adding to its value, Symbio includes a clinically-validated wellbeing assessment tool, mood tracker, and numerous educational programs covering financial resilience, mindfulness, and nutrition. The app also hosts a comprehensive library of expert-created content tailored to meet the health needs of their members. Topics include managing diabetes, achieving a healthier work-life balance, anxiety management techniques, and dietary advice.

Previous Success and Future Engagement

Last year, British Friendly reported a significant 72% increase in the use of its value-added services, attributed to a targeted email campaign promoting their digital health care options. The company plans to run another campaign in early 2025 to further encourage engagement with these valuable services.

Expert Opinions on the Initiative

Paul Roberts, Proposition & Distribution Director at CIExpert, noted, ‘As health and wellbeing benefits evolve, their promotion must keep pace to encourage member engagement.’ He expressed enthusiasm about the access provided by the Symbio app, which is expected to foster healthier lives.

Natalie Summerson, Sales and Marketing Director at British Friendly, emphasized, ‘We aim for our members to actively utilize our health benefits for a happier, healthier lifestyle. A successful marketing campaign will kick off the launch, reminding members consistently of the app’s value.’

Sanjay Chada, Strategic Partnership Director at HealthHero, remarked, ‘Launching Symbio with British Friendly marks a vital step toward providing comprehensive digital health services at a time when conventional public health access can often prove challenging.’ The aim is to equip members with tools that promote wellbeing and contentment.
