Thailand’s Weather Forecast: Cool Temperatures and Fog Expected

On Saturday, December 7, the Thai Meteorological Department has forecast that the North, Northeast, and Central regions of Thailand will experience cool to cold weather, accompanied by morning fog. This change in weather is due to a weak high-pressure system covering upper Thailand.

The department advised residents in these areas to take care of their health as the weather changes, and to be cautious of potential fires that may arise from the dry air. Motorists are also urged to drive carefully due to reduced visibility caused by the fog.

In the southern region, rainfall is expected to decrease, with only isolated thundershowers reported. The northeast monsoon affecting the Gulf appears to be weakening, which may lead to wave heights of 1-2 meters in the lower Gulf and over 2 meters during thundershowers.

Looking ahead, from Sunday to Tuesday, a moderate high-pressure system from China will extend to upper Thailand and the South China Sea, bringing further drops in temperature and strong winds. The Northeast is expected to experience a temperature drop of 2-4 degrees Celsius, while the North, Central regions including Bangkok, and the East are forecasted a drop of 1-3 degrees Celsius.

The Thai Meteorological Department reiterated the importance of health precautions during this fluctuating weather and advised farmers to safeguard their crops against potential damage.
