New Healthcare Facility Opens Its Doors in Dickson City
A new one-stop shop for health care has opened its doors next to the Giant supermarket along Main Street in Dickson City. Valley Integrated Urgent Care and Wellness Center seeks to provide urgent care, aesthetic care, wellness care, and family medicine to Dickson City and the surrounding area. The walk-in clinic is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends.
The clinic held a soft opening on June 1 to gain Medicare approval. Valley Integrated now accepts a wide variety of insurances, including Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Geisinger, and Highmark. The full list can be found on its website.
Though Valley Integrated appears to be tucked away in a rather unassuming spot, the clinic’s owner, Dr. Freud Milice, sees it as a prime location to reach the community where they are active. “Dickson City is a growing area with a lack of access to care. There was a need, and we sought to fill that need,” Milice said.
Valley Integrated strives to be a well-rounded clinic that the community can use for all of their health care needs. The building is split in half, one side dedicated to urgent care and the other for aesthetics and wellness. “By keeping everything in one place, we are able to maximize the safety and continuity of our care,” Milice added.
The urgent care side of the facility provides medical attention for those who need it quickly, along with several other services, such as drug screenings, physicals for employers, X-rays, and school sports physicals. This side also houses primary care led by Dr. Carolina Braga, offering treatment for illnesses as well as preventive and wellness services.
The wellness center focuses on aesthetics, cosmetics, and general wellness practices, including facials, laser hair removal, weight loss procedures, skin analysis, Botox, cosmetic injections, and IV vitamin therapy, performed primarily by Dr. Alexander Rios.
“We wanted to bring aesthetics more into the medical field,” Milice stated. Many of Valley Integrated’s staff members are certified nurse practitioners with diverse professional backgrounds in aesthetics.
With nearly five months of operation completed, Valley Integrated Urgent Care and Wellness Center aims to assure the community, “We’re here for the community, and we’re here for the long term,” Milice concluded.
