Commitment to Community Health
Alisha Hutchens, president and COO of Novant Health Clemmons Medical Center, emphasized the organization’s commitment to making healthcare more accessible, especially in underserved and rural communities. Novant Health is continually adding new primary and specialty care services throughout Davie and surrounding counties.
Partnerships and Initiatives
Novant Health maintains partnerships with local organizations like the YMCA, Smart Start, and Senior Services. Their latest initiative, Walk With a Doc, invites community members to walk with healthcare providers at Davie County Community Park, fostering connections outside clinical settings.
Addressing Workforce Shortages
Novant Health is addressing workforce shortages by partnering with ID to offer tuition assistance for students attending Davidson-Davie Community College (DDCC). This initiative aims to prepare students for careers in skilled trades, including healthcare, by removing financial obstacles.
Future Collaborations
Looking ahead, Novant Health plans to deepen its collaboration with DDCC, providing mentors, guest speakers, and hands-on learning experiences. They also continue to engage with Davie County High School through career showcases and Q&A sessions.
