MERIDIAN, Miss. – The 3rd Annual “Walk 4 Mental Health” was held this afternoon at Bonita Lakes Park, encouraging community members to come together in support of mental wellbeing.

The event featured several guest speakers from the local community, each highlighting the importance of mental health and the need to foster supportive environments around it.

Zach Ball Sr., the event organizer, shared a personal story, saying, “I wanted to put on this kind of event because I lost my father in 2018. He committed suicide, and I just want to honor him in some kind of way and those that have ended their lives and other families and all that. It’s okay to not be okay; it’s okay to talk to a therapist, it’s okay to go talk to a genuine person, just talk to somebody. Somebody loves you.”

The “Walk 4 Mental Health” was a free event, available for all community members, and included refreshments for participants after the walk, emphasizing a communal approach to health and wellbeing.
